Neovastat is derived from shark cartilage and taken orally. It is an angiogenesis inhibitor. Phase I/II data indicated a doubling of survival time for patients with refractory metastatic kidney cancer. A 280 patient, multi-center, international phase III will be completed by the end of 2002.
